On this morning
6.20am - St Ives Island.
With a high tide and hardly any swell to talk of, conditions were quite hard to photograph in this morning. However, I love a challenge! From the top of the Island I walked around and down to Porthmeor beach. It was here that I feel I captured the best shots of the morning. Setting up my camera close the seas edge I was able to work with some lovely movement in the calm waters to create some great tranquil photographs.
On this day in 1927 Sir Henry Segrave beat Malcolm Campbell’s land speed record in his 'Mystery' car (a 1,000 hp Sunbeam with a World War I aircraft engine) on the Daytona Beach, clocking 203.79 mph. He became the first driver to exceed 200 mph.
