About This Day
“Four seasons in one dawn”
Carbis Bay Beach
Sunrise: 6.04am - 10th August 2018
Wet weather was forecast today and a westerly breeze making Carbis Bay beach a good spot to shoot from. It felt a little misty and dark when I got down to the beach quite some time before dawn. There were however some lovely hues in the water, some wonderful deep blues and greys accompanied with gentle water movement up and down the beach.
Towards the end of the shoot after dawn I was thinking of packing up but noticed a little bit of light coming up over St Ives so I stayed and was rewarded with some fabulous colours coming through all the way over the bay.
I was kept company by a very curious and playful seal 10-20 feet away all morning which kept bobbing down every time I tried to include him in the shots. It’s always nice to see wildlife like this so close to you when working.
