About This Day
When I got the Porthgwidden the sky was layered with different colours. High above there was dawn blue, above a band of thick dark blue/grey cloud and a band of dawn light - orange and pink - was lighting the sky just above the land on the other side of the bay.
I quickly tried to capture some water movement in the gathering light before moving onto wet sand reflections.
This morning was tricky for me. A strong off shore wind, which was blowing sand across the beach at ankle height, meant I had to keep a good eye on my tripods stability. The ground sea had also pulled up clumps of sea weed which kept trying to creep into shot. But despite the cold wind, and being battered by it, it was once again a wonderful morning. A lone seal watched me work while a large group of gannets where fishing off the beach - diving into the water at various intervals to catch their breakfast.
