About This Day

Porthgwidden Beach

Sunrise: 6.50

Todays' forecast was for twelve hours of rain - starting two hours before sunrise. Luckily for me it was wrong, on that score anyway - and when I woke it was still dry, with dramatic, multi-layered cloud and fog banks. There was even the vague hope of some sunrise colour pushing through as I arrived at Porthgwidden.
Working quickly to capture water movement I moved around the beach which I had totally to myself. As I worked the whole atmosphere turned a pinkish/orange hue for a few moments only although no really colour appeared in the sky but the gun-metal greys and wintery blues of the clouds.
Chilly this morning but invigorating with a strong wind.
