Mothers Day around the world

Finding a gift that expresses what it means to be a Mum is not easy and often it's the small gestures that mean so much. The cold tea and soggy toast lovingly made by a little one or the hand made card carefully drawn by a small child mean so much. A small bunch of flowers picked in their own garden, all wonderful gestures that will mean the world to a Mum. All these Mothers day ideas are carried out acroos the country every Mothers day but what about other countries?

In Australia, Mothers day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May were the wearing of a colured carnation is a way of showing your love for your Mum. The wearing of a white carnation is for a Mum who is no longer with us.

Mothers Day in Mexico is on the 10th May and is known as Dia de las Madres. Churches have a special mass and school children perform plays and dances for their Mums.
